In honor of April's Fair Housing Month, HOPE, Inc. will be co-hosting celebrations in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Please join us at one or all of our events.
The Broward County Annual Fair Housing Symposium and Luncheon will be held on Friday, April 9, 2010 at the Broward County African American Research Library and Cultural Center. The theme is “Fair Housing 2010: Choose to Include”. W. George Allen, renowned civil rights advocate, will deliver the keynote address at the luncheon. The workshops will include information on fair housing laws for persons with disabilities, a speech by a holocaust survivor, and fair housing for 55+ communities.
The 4th Annual Broward County Fair Housing Month Celebration, “Fair Housing 2010: Time to Act,” is designed for housing and community development professionals. This event will be held on April 16, 2010 at the Signature Grand in the Town of Davie. The keynote address will be delivered by Carlos Osegueda, the new Atlanta Regional Director for HUD‘s Office of FHEO. The workshops will address topics on Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing and Title VI, the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, and the Analysis of Impediments.
The 17th Annual Miami-Dade County Fair Housing Month Celebration on Friday, April 30th, 2010 at the Intercontinental West Miami. The 2010 Luncheon theme is “Achievement in Integration”. The event's focus will be to highlight the outcomes and future impact of the Adker-Knight program. The Honorable Barbara Jordan, Miami-Dade County Commissioner, District 1, will deliver the keynote address. The workshops will cover fair housing law, enforcement, accessibility requirements and case studies.
